Indians Fall to La Porte in DAC Showdown

The Lake Central Volleyball team fought hard in the final game of the Duneland Athletic Conference, but they fell to the La Porte Slicers. The Slicers victory sealed the DAC championship for them.

Lake Central finished the DAC with an 11-3 record, which tied them for second place with the Crown Point Bulldogs. The Indians were led by Alex Jelcic with 10 kills, Kaelan Murphy with 7 kills, and Alexa Iwema with 5 kills.

Sophia Watts scored 8 points for the Indians from serving with 1 Ace. Brooke Tinberg recorded 2 aces. Brooke Tinberg also had 13 digs, and Milica Tomic and Kaelan Murphy had 12 digs each. Tomic also paced the Indians with 32 assists on the night.

Lake Central’s next match is in the IHSAA Sectionals against Merrillville on Tuesday, October 10th at 6:00 pm in the Munster Gym.
